In February 2008 Debbie Green's daughter found out she was pregnant and asked Debbie to knit a poncho for the new baby. Debbie couldn't find anything perfect and so decided to design her own. Not being known as a knitter it took several unsuccessful attempts before she finally sorted out the best way to achieve what had been imagined a baby poncho should look like, weebits designer babywear was born.
All the babywear garments from Weebits are hand knitted in New Zealand using 100% pure NZ merino wool. This wool is independently tested, inspected and certified as having been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the European Union Eco-label for textiles (2002).
Also, all Weebits garments are coloured using eco-friendly dyes which do not use toxic chemicals or heavy metals in the process.
