Galah Issue 1
This is the very first issue of Galah, a new independent, print publication. A modern voice from the bush. Galah examine's rural life from a creative perspective through articles, a podcast coming in 2021, and this beautiful flagship publication. The first issue of Galah is a love letter to regional Australia. The people who live there. The unique landscapes. The amazing stories.
Small Acorns is very excited to be able to make Galah accessible to New Zealand readers.
There is no advertising in Issue 1. This is a publication for readers, and Galah wants you to be able to treasure each issue without having to flick through pages of ads before you get to the good stuff.
Issue 1 contributors include Annabelle Hickson, Trisha Dixon, Jayne Cuddihy, Tim Ross, Sophie Hansen, Michelle Crawford and Claire Takacs.
There are articles about art, architecture, gardening and food, as well as some fabulous pieces exploring the Issue 1 theme of ‘Limitations’.
Galah is a platform for lots of different voices examining the country experience. Editor and Founder, Annabelle Hickson is a writer who takes photos, often of flowers. She lives on a pecan farm with her husband Ed and three children in the Dumaresq Valley on the NSW-Queensland border, Australia.
She is passionate about reading, gardening, growing roses, cooking and a celebrator of the beauty in life. She is the author of A Tree In The House, and a former columnist for Country Style magazine. She also has a wonderful podcast with her friend Gillian Bell, called Dispatch To A Friend.
